To help you maintain tags in Google Tag Manager.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>To continue with this guide assumes that you have completed the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n\t<li>Create a Google Analytics 4 account and property<\/li>\n\t<li>Create a web data stream for your website<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you are not ready, you can go back to the article <a href=\"https:\/\/magerubik.com\/blog\/setting-up-google-analytics-for-magento\" title=\"Setting Up Google Analytics for Magento\">Setting Up Google Analytics for Magento<\/a> to understand.<\/p>\n<p>Google Tag Manager helps you centrally manage all your GA4 data and events in one place through two types of cards that work together, GA4 Configuration and GA4 Event.<\/p>\n<p>Ok let&#8217;s do it step by step:<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"h3\"><strong>1. Set up and install Tag Manager<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Once you are signed in to your Google Account, redirect to the <a href=\"https:\/\/marketingplatform.google.com\/about\/tag-manager\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"Tag Manager homepage\">Tag Manager homepage<\/a> and click <strong>\u201cSign in to Tag Manager\u201d<\/strong> button.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn2.magerubik.com\/media\/knowledge\/google-tag-manager-wellcome.jpg\" alt=\"Google Tag Manager Wellcome\"><\/figure>\n<p>Next, click <strong>\u201cCreate account\u201d<\/strong><p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn2.magerubik.com\/media\/knowledge\/google-tag-manager-create-account\" alt=\"Google Tag Manager Create Account\"><\/figure>\n<p>You will be taken to the account creation page where you will be asked to complete information entries.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn2.magerubik.com\/media\/knowledge\/google-tag-manager-create-account-info.jpg\" alt=\"Google Tag Manager Create Info\"><\/figure>\n<p>Nothing special, after filling in the information, click <strong>\u201cCreate\u201d<\/strong> button.<\/p>\n<p>After, you will be asked to read and accept Google Tag Manager terms of service. Now Click <strong>\u201cI Accept\u201d<\/strong> then arrive at your GTM dashboard.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"h3\"><strong>2. Set up the Google Analytics 4 Configuration tag<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p class=\"h3\"><strong>Create a GA4 Configuration tag<\/strong><\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn2.magerubik.com\/media\/knowledge\/google-tag-account-dashboard.jpg\" alt=\"Google Tag account dashboard\"><\/figure>\n<p>In your GTM dashboard click <strong>\u201cAdd a new tag\u201d<\/strong> then you will see below screen<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn2.magerubik.com\/media\/knowledge\/gtm-untitled-tag.jpg\" alt=\"Google Tag untitled tag\"><\/figure>\n<p>First choose tag configuration when the window that opens select <strong>GA4 Configuration<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn2.magerubik.com\/media\/knowledge\/gtm-choose-tag-type.jpg\" alt=\"Google Tag type\"><\/figure>\n<p>Then you will see as below screen<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn2.magerubik.com\/media\/knowledge\/gtm-GA4-configuration.jpg\" alt=\"Google Tag add GA4 configuration\"><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn2.magerubik.com\/media\/knowledge\/gmt-data-stream-info-created.jpg\" alt=\"Google Tag add GA4 configuration\"><\/figure>\n<p>Now, go back to GA account go to the data stream section get the <strong>Measurement ID<\/strong> then enter it into the input section.<\/p>\n<p>In the <strong>\u201cTriggering \u201d<\/strong> section fill in the scope where you want to place the tag on your site. Most people choose all pages but you may want exclude certain pages, such as Privacy Policy, Terms &#038; Conditions, login&#8230;<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn2.magerubik.com\/media\/knowledge\/gmt-data-stream-info-created.jpg\" alt=\"Google Tag add GA4 configuration\"><\/figure>\n<p>Now, save your tag then publish your GTM container to push it live.<\/p>\n<p class=\"h3\"><strong>Create a GA4 event tag<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Do the create new tag again, but this time we will choose the tag type as \u201cGoogle Analytics: GA4 Event.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn2.magerubik.com\/media\/knowledge\/gtm-even-configuration.jpg\" alt=\"Google Tag GA4 even configuration\"><\/figure>\n<p>In Configuration Tag, select your Google Analytics: GA4 Configuration tag created in previous step.<\/p>\n<p>In Event Parameters choose &#8220;Built-In Variable&#8230;&#8221; then you can choose one of them then enter the Event Name.<\/p>\n<p>then Create a trigger and click <strong>\u201csave\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Finally click submit to put the updates live then press prevew to check if the tag is active.
